Who I am
I'm Ciro Simone Irmici. I write, and I build things. I'm based in San Severo, in Puglia, southern Italy.
I'm best known for my micro books: more than 250 short, practical guides on personal growth, creativity and everyday skills. 170 of them have been turned into audiobooks in English, Spanish, French and German, available on Amazon, Google Play, Everand, Audiobooks.com and ElevenReader.
Alongside the writing I build digital products: mobile apps, automation systems, and publications like this one. It is the same work in different forms: taking something people find confusing and making it usable.
Why I write about dogs and cats
I am not a veterinarian, and nothing on this blog replaces one. I'm someone who has lived with dogs and cats for years and got tired of looking up a simple question, why is my dog scratching, how much should a kitten eat, when does barking stop being normal, and finding either a wall of advertising or a page designed to frighten me into an emergency visit.
PetCare Updates answers the practical questions that come up when an animal shares your home: feeding, training, behaviour, grooming, and the everyday health worries that are usually nothing and occasionally something. It's written for the owner, not for the clinic.
How articles here are written
- Every article answers one question, and answers it early rather than after six paragraphs of preamble.
- Ordinary explanations come first. Serious conditions are mentioned where they belong, not at the top to scare you.
- Where a number matters, a quantity, an age, a frequency, a timing, the number is given.
- Recognised authorities such as the AVMA, the AKC, the ASPCA and the RSPCA are named as sources where relevant.
- Articles are researched and drafted with the help of AI tools and reviewed before publication. The topics, the editorial standards above, and the responsibility for what is published are mine.
What this blog will never do
It won't diagnose your animal, and it won't tell you a symptom is harmless when it might not be. If your dog or cat is in pain, isn't eating, is struggling to breathe, or something has changed suddenly and you're worried: stop reading and call a vet.
