Pregnant Cows Sent to Slaughter, Calves Suffocate

It's a heartbreaking reality that hundreds of heavily pregnant cows are still being sent to slaughterhouses each year in the Netherlands, despite laws forbidding their transportation. As a result, not only are these innocent cows deprived of the chance to give birth and care for their offspring, but their calves are also subjected to a harrowing fate as they suffocate to death.

The practice of sending pregnant cows to slaughter is not only inhumane but also goes against the very essence of compassion and respect for life. These cows, some days away from giving birth, are forced onto trucks and transported long distances to the slaughterhouse, causing immense distress and suffering to both the mother and her unborn calf.

Once at the slaughterhouse, these pregnant cows are mercilessly slaughtered, with their unborn calves dying alongside them. The calves, still inside their mother's womb, are unable to survive the brutal process, ultimately suffocating to death in a horrific and senseless manner.

It is a tragic reality that highlights the callous disregard for animal welfare and the blatant disregard for the inherent worth of these sentient beings. The system that allows pregnant cows to be sent to slaughter is not only morally bankrupt but also fails to acknowledge the basic right of all living creatures to live free from harm and suffering.
